This is a private area lent to the Bettystown Tidy Towns group (BTT), where volunteers work on growing plants for pollination and biodiversity in the town. You’re more than welcome to join and support us in our work to make the community thrive. Please contact us at bettystowntidytowns@gmail.com.
Here are some of the structures and seasonal planted species by BTT to help our little friends to do their very important job for the environment.
Volunteers dedicate hours of hard work throughout the season to grow fresh, healthy vegetables and fruits. Plums, potatoes, gooseberries, parsley, coriander, basil, rocket, onions, and juicy ripe tomatoes are then harvested and taken home to enjoy.
A portion of the produce is also shared during coffee breaks after volunteer work in "Tony’s Boot Café" — an affectionate nickname for the coffee and treats provided through volunteer initiative.
